The Montrose FBLA Officers won for the second time in three years in the Community Blood Center of Kansas City video contest Facebook challenge. Videos were done promoting giving blood by high schools from around the Kansas City areas. Montrose choose to depict life in our own community to express the importance of giving blood. The video was submitted by March 15 and voting on Facebook began. At the end of the voting period, Montrose was victorious with 194 votes. Members of the Montrose Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter recently attended the 2013 Missouri FBLA Career Leadership Conference held on April 21, 22, and 23, in Columbia, Missouri. FBLA is a career and technical student organization with 3,000 members and advisers representing 452 chapters throughout the state. The Montrose High School FBLA and FFA chapters are hosting a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser on Sunday, May 19, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., in the cafeteria. This fundraiser is to help defray costs of the upcoming National FBLA Career Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, in June, as well as the National FFA Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, in October.
